Q: Is Trofile™ right for me?
A: If you have been diagnosed with HIV-1 and have failed prior HAART, talk to your healthcare provider about using Trofile to determine whether a CCR5-antagonist is an available treatment option.

Q: How do I get the Trofile™ test?
A: Trofile™ can only be ordered by your physician.

Q: How is the test administered?
A: Your healthcare provider draws a small blood sample and places the sample in sample-collection tubes, which are centrifuged and the plasma is frozen immediately. The provider then sends the sample directly to Monogram. The assay is analyzed at the Monogram Biosciences lab and the results are delivered back to the health care provider.

Q: How long will it take to get the results of Trofile™?
A: It typically takes about 14 days from the date the sample is received by Monogram Biosciences for the results to be available. The Trofile™ report form is sent to the treating physician.

Q: How accurate are the results of Trofile™?
A: Trofile™ is a very accurate test and is the test used in all clinical trials of co-receptor antagonists.

Q: Will the Trofile™ results tell my doctor which treatment to use?
A: The results of Trofile™ will not specifically identify which treatments to use; however, it will indicate whether the CCR5 class of drugs may be appropriate for you. The results of Trofile™ should be used with other diagnostic information to identify the most appropriate therapy for you.

Q: Is the Trofile™ assay reimbursed by insurance?
A: Monogram Biosciences is working directly with providers and payers to provide reimbursement as quickly as possible. Because this technology is so new, many insurance plans are in the process of setting new policies in order to cover the test. The company will work with each patient regarding coverage and reimbursement.

Q: What if I don't have insurance?

Q: Does Trofile™ replace other laboratory tests?
A: No, Trofile™ does not replace other laboratory tests. The results of Trofile™ are intended to be used in conjunction with the results of other laboratory tests that are performed to evaluate an optimized background therapy.
